Gould Birds

John Gould (1804-1881) is considered by many to be the most prolific illustrator of magnificant bird folios that the world has ever seen. Known in his time as simply the "Bird Man", he is discussed in the same breath as Audubon and Wilson among the great bird illustrators of his time. During his lifetime, he produced almost 3000 folio size hand colored lithographs of birds from all over the world.

More complete information about John Gould will be added shortly. Thank you for your patience as we are a new, and learning, web site.
