We got our first American Bulldog about five years ago. We were not very familiar with the breed at that time. We knew we wanted a good guard dog that would also be good with the family. We found out quickly that this breed is EXACTLY that. At that time, we lived right along the beach in Waianae - on the West side of Oahu. We had a lot of problems with people passing by on their way to the beach and helping themselves to anything in sight, from our slippers (thongs), to fishing poles, even rugs hanging outside! Well, we sure fixed that! It wasn't until a few years later, when we got Honey Girl that we started thinking about breeding these awesome dogs.
