Arrow Creek cuts a swath through Montana's high prairie-country that from an agricultural perspective, is known as "badlands." But through the eyes of the naturalist, the cowboy, the Native American and the artist, this spot is regarded more as a shrine. At this sacred place there is a pulpit from which the Great Spirit speaks to all passers-by. It is called Square Butte. Cowboys like Blair Nack & Larry Jordon ride this vast expanse of range seasonally, but it is at sun-up that the true heighth and breadth of the land surrounding Square Butte reveals itself to those who appreciate its hidden beauty.
