The Season of Plenty is drawing to a close on the Yellowstone Plateau. Along the meandering South Fork of the Madison, the meadow grass has been turned to gold by the first frost of Fall. Soon the blanket of snow up on Lion Head will creep down to the willow flats below. It is a time for the mystic rituals of autumn when both elk and hunter answer an ancient call.
